Most clients go from first consultation to enjoying their sauna in 4–8 weeks. Indoor installations tend to be faster (4–6 weeks); outdoor builds with site prep may take 6–8 weeks. Actual in-home installation work is typically under a week — most of the timeline is design, planning, and material preparation. We’ll give you a specific timeline estimate after your free consultation.

Yes — basements are one of our most popular locations for indoor sauna installation. They offer privacy, stable temperatures, and often more usable square footage than homeowners expect. Traditional (Finnish) saunas heat the air to high temperatures (160–200°F) using a wood, electric, or gas heater with stones. Infrared saunas use infrared light to heat your body directly at lower air temperatures (120–140°F). We specialize in traditional Finnish-style cedar saunas, which most sauna enthusiasts consider the more authentic and effective experience.

For outdoor saunas, most municipalities treat them as freestanding accessory structures — which often means no permit required. Indoor installations vary by suburb. We advise on this during your free consultation.

We primarily install HUUM and Harvia electric sauna heaters — trusted Finnish brands known for even heat distribution, longevity, and beautiful design. Both brands offer WiFi control options so you can preheat your sauna from your phone. We can also work with wood-burning heaters for outdoor installations.

A cedar cold plunge from Satori Cedar Spas is approximately $7,000 complete — fully equipped with a 1/2 HP chiller, pump, filter, Instant Ions chemical-free sanitation system, and cover. Ships fully assembled.

Absolutely. Our outdoor saunas are built for Missouri’s full climate range — from July humidity to January cold. Proper insulation and appropriately sized heaters ensure your outdoor sauna reaches temperature quickly even in winter. Many clients tell us January is their favorite month to use it. Western red cedar is the gold standard for sauna construction. It’s naturally resistant to moisture and rot, doesn’t splinter when hot, stays cool to the touch, insulates heat efficiently, and smells extraordinary. It also ages beautifully. All of our saunas are built from premium Western red cedar. The second most commonly used wood for sauna construction is Hemlock, which we can also offer — it’s slightly lighter in color and equally durable.

Contrast therapy alternates between heat (sauna) and cold (cold plunge or shower). The thermal cycling causes blood vessels to rapidly dilate and constrict, improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and producing a powerful mood and energy boost. A typical residential sauna with a 6kW electric heater uses about 6 kWh per session (assuming a 1-hour session including preheat). At St. Louis average electricity rates, that’s roughly $0.70–$1.00 per session — significantly less than a gym or spa visit.

For one or two people, a 4×6 or 5×7 foot sauna is comfortable and efficient to heat. For families or those who entertain, 6×8 or larger works well. We’ll help you size appropriately for your space and usage during your free design consultation.

Yes — for outdoor saunas, cedar hot tubs, and cold plunges, we ship nationally. These products are built fully assembled at our St. Louis workshop and delivered ready to use, anywhere in the country. cedar saunas are low-maintenance. Wipe down the benches after use, leave the door open to air out between sessions, and avoid soaps or chemicals inside. Some owners lightly sand the benches annually to refresh the wood.
